Two knobs
Peak Reduction sets how much it compresses, Gain sets the level. That is all most tracks need.
-
Smooth by nature
Its release follows the music, quick on short peaks and slower on long phrases, so vocals and bass sit still without pumping.
-
Analogue warmth
A touch of warm colour, an optional mains hum for vintage character, and a VU meter you can read at a glance.
What makes it different
Press is built for the sound of a classic studio compressor: smooth, musical and hard to make sound bad. Its release adapts to what you play, it adds gentle analogue colour, and it adds no latency, so you can use it while recording as well as mixing.

Questions
- How do I use it?
- Turn up Peak Reduction until the VU meter shows a few dB of gain reduction, then use Gain to bring the level back up, or switch on Auto makeup.
- Compress or Limit?
- Compress is gentle and smooth, for vocals and bass. Limit holds the peaks more firmly.
- Can I use it for parallel compression?
- Yes. Lower Mix to blend the compressed sound with the original.
