Harmonic Pro Studio Delay echo plugin with throws on phrase ends and repeats that follow the chords
  • Throws in one click

Right-click the vocal, choose Delay throws, and only the last word of each phrase goes into the echo. No send automation to draw.

  • Echoes that follow the chords

Each repeat climbs or falls to the next note of the chord the band is playing when it sounds. No chord track needed.

  • Always on the beat

The echoes follow every tempo change and ramp in the song, and an export sounds exactly like playback.

What makes it different

Delay has everything you expect from an echo: note values locked to the tempo, milliseconds for slapback, ping-pong, tape and analog character, a tone filter and ducking. Then it goes further. It knows where each phrase of a vocal ends before it is sung, so it can throw just the last word into the echo, exactly on time. It hears the chords in your song, from the MIDI parts, the Arranger band and the band’s audio, so its repeats can climb through them as an arpeggio. And it reads the song’s tempo map, so the echoes stay on the beat through every change, in playback and in every export.

Features

  • TIME in note values from 1/64 to 2 bars, straight, triplet or dotted, or in milliseconds from 1 ms to 4 s
  • Echoes up to 10 seconds apart, on the beat through every tempo change and ramp
  • Eight styles: Clean, Mod, Tape, Analog, Dub, Lo-Fi, Diffuse and Reverse, with AGE for how much of each you hear
  • FEEDBACK with the number of repeats shown, up to echoes that hold forever without running away
  • LOW CUT and HIGH CUT inside the echo, so each repeat gets thinner and darker as it fades
  • Mono, Stereo or Ping-Pong, with WIDTH
  • DUCK: the echoes step back while the track plays and come up in the gaps
  • PITCH SHIFT: each repeat climbs or falls by up to 12 semitones, for shimmer and octave echoes
  • PITCH CHORD: each repeat moves to the next note of the chord playing, up or down
  • THROW on phrase ends, with GAP and BETWEEN for a quiet bed of echo under the throws
  • Delay throws: a throws return on any vocal, from a right-click, in one undo step
  • The echo line: every repeat drawn as you will hear it, labelled with its note; drag it to set TIME and FEEDBACK
  • Twenty-one factory presets in five folders, and your own; a preset never changes MIX
  • A/B, Delta, automation, and exports that sound exactly like playback

Questions

What is a throw?
An echo on only the last word of a line, so the vocal stays clear while the word you want rings out. Delay finds the end of each phrase by itself, so you don’t have to draw any send automation.
Do I need a chord track for the chord echoes?
No. Delay hears the chords in the song itself: the MIDI parts, the Arranger band and the band’s audio. With no chord heard but a key known, the repeats step through the key; with nothing heard, they move in octaves.
Does it stay in time when the tempo changes?
Yes. TIME in note values follows every tempo change and ramp in the song, and an export, a bounce or a freeze sounds exactly like playback.
Does it add delay to my track?
No. The track plays on time; only the echoes come later. You can put Delay anywhere in a track’s rack, or on a return.
What MIX should I use?
A new Delay starts at 30 %, to add echo to a track. On an FX return, use 100 %: Delay throws sets that for you. Presets never change MIX, so the same preset works in both places.
Can Nimi set it up for me?
Yes. Ask for throws on the lead vocal, a dotted eighth, a tape sound or echoes that follow the chords down, and every change is one step you can undo.
Where can I learn every control?
The user manual has a full page on Delay, with every control, the presets and tips.
