CORE TECHNOLOGY 03 · NIMI

You have the ears. Nimi knows the theory.

No music theory? You don’t need it. If you can hear what sounds right, you can make music with Nimi. Say what you hear in your head, in your own words, and Nimi, the AI with full control of Harmonic Pro Studio, builds it, plays it and generates the sounds. You listen, and keep what sounds right.

NIMI · MY SONG

Make the chorus lift, and bring the lead vocal up 2 dB there.

Done. In the chorus, bars 17 to 32:

  • The band plays its Main B groove, with a fill into it
  • Lead Vocal held 2 dB higher, ramping in over a beat
  • The pads widened a little, the mix still safe in mono

Three steps. Press Ctrl+Z to take any of them back.

MADE FOR GOOD EARS

Say it the way you hear it.

Many people hear music beautifully and have never learned its names. You don’t need to know what a chord is called or what a compressor does. Describe the feeling, and Nimi turns it into the music and the settings.

YOU SAY

“Make the chorus feel bigger.”

NIMI DOES

Nimi can bring more of the band into the chorus, lift its level and open up the width, then you listen and decide.

YOU SAY

“This part sounds too happy. Make it sadder.”

NIMI DOES

Nimi can try darker chords in that section, and the band plays them straight away.

YOU SAY

“I can’t hear the vocal.”

NIMI DOES

Nimi measures the mix, finds what is covering the voice and makes room for it.

YOU SAY

“A slow drum groove, warm and dusty.”

NIMI DOES

Nimi generates a loop at your song’s tempo and puts the takes in your song to choose from.

YOU SAY

“The song is too high for me to sing.”

NIMI DOES

Nimi moves the whole song to a lower key, and the band and the chords follow.

YOU SAY

“Why can’t I hear the guitar?”

NIMI DOES

Nimi follows the signal, finds the reason and tells you in plain words.

NO THEORY NEEDED

Nimi handles the theory. You keep what sounds right.

Everything Nimi makes already fits your song, so your ears can do what they do best: judge.

Chords that belong

When Nimi writes chords, it picks them from your song’s key, so the band plays chords that fit.

Everything in key

Loops, one-shots, parts and vocals are generated in your key and over your chords.

Always in time

Everything lands at your song’s tempo, and loops that come back at another tempo are fitted to it.

Mixing in plain words

Nimi tells you what it hears in the mix in everyday words, with the numbers there only if you want them.

Learn as you go

Ask Nimi what it did and why, and it explains in words that make sense without any theory.

Your ears decide

Takes to choose from, before-and-after listening, and an undo for every step. If it doesn’t sound right, it goes.

FULL STUDIO CONTROL

Full studio control, in plain words.

Nimi controls the studio through the same actions as its own menus and buttons, so there is no separate “AI mode” and nothing it is kept out of. If you can do it with the mouse, Nimi can do it for you.

Set up the session

“Make a bass track with Sonic and a vocal bus with Voice Front on it.”

Tracks, buses, folders, routing, track presets, instruments and effects, including the plugins you own.

Write and arrange

“Write a verse and a chorus in A minor, and give the band a quiet intro.”

Chords, sections and lyrics in the Arranger, band blocks and grooves, MIDI notes, quantize and transpose.

Mix

“Duck the bass under the kick, and bring the vocal up 2 dB in the chorus.”

Faders, pan, sends, every effect’s controls, ducking, level rides, automation and mix scenes.

Check and fix

“Why can’t I hear the guitar?”

It follows the signal and names the reason: a mute, a solo, a fader, a route or a missing instrument.

Master and deliver

“Match my master to this reference, then export the stems.”

Loudness, true peak and tonal balance against a reference, then the mix, stems or a delivery pack.

Look after the studio

“Move my user folder to the D drive.”

It reads and changes settings for you, and always tells you the old value so it can be put back.

LIVE SOUND GENERATION

No more loop packs. Just ask Nimi.

Stop scrolling through loop packs for a sound that almost fits. Describe the sound you need and Nimi generates it for your song: one-shots, loops, parts and vocals, at its tempo, in its key and over its chords. Every sound you keep is yours, forever.

One-shots

Single hits and sounds: a kick, an 808, a vocal chop, a riser or an impact, ready to drop in or play from your keyboard.

Audio loops

Drum grooves, bass lines, riffs and textures as audio loops, for the loop, a selection or the section under the playhead, in time with your song.

Parts that fit your tracks

Name the tracks it should listen to, and the new part is generated to fit them.

Vocals

Give it your lyrics, and they are sung over the song’s chords. Put any vocal or sound on a sampler pad and play it from your keyboard.

Takes to choose from

Several takes arrive on a new track, one lane each. Star the ones you like, fit them to the tempo or keep them as made.

Yours to keep, forever

Every sound you keep is yours to use in your music, for good, with no pack to buy and no licence to renew. Your audio is sent to the cloud only when you agree.

IT LISTENS FIRST

Measured, not guessed.

When you ask for help with the mix, Nimi does not guess from your words. It renders the song, measures it, and shows you what it found before anything changes.

  1. 1

    Render

Every track and the master are rendered for the bars you choose.

  2. 2

    Measure

Loudness, peaks, tonal balance, width, mono safety, dynamics, and the tracks that fight each other.

  3. 3

    Explain

Findings in plain words, each with the numbers behind it.

  4. 4

    Propose

A list of moves in order. Nothing changes until you say yes.

  5. 5

    Check

After a move it measures again and tells you what really changed.

YOU STAY IN CHARGE

Your song, your decisions.

Nimi works the way a good assistant engineer does: it shows its work and never takes a step you cannot take back.

One step to undo

Every change it makes is one step on the studio’s undo list, the same list as yours. Ctrl+Z takes it back.

Marked in the history

The song’s edit history marks every step as yours or the AI’s, session by session.

It asks before deleting

Anything that would remove a track, a clip or an effect asks you first, and the question expires after a minute.

Never over your audio

Music it makes lands on new tracks. It never records over or replaces what you played or sang.

Notes for this song

Say “remember…” and it keeps a note inside the song, such as the singer’s range or the sound you want.

Settings it can’t touch

It cannot switch its own access on or off, and it cannot change your audio device. Those stay yours alone.

Questions

Do I need to know music theory?
No. If you can hear what sounds right, you can work with Nimi. Describe what you want in your own words, listen to what Nimi does, and keep what sounds good. Nimi takes care of the keys, chords and settings.
What can Nimi generate?
One-shots, audio loops, parts that fit the tracks you name, and vocals that sing your lyrics over the song’s chords. Everything is made at your song’s tempo and in its key, and arrives as takes you choose from.
Do I need Nimi to make music?
No. Everything Nimi does, you can do yourself with the mouse and the keyboard. It is there to save you time.
Is Nimi a subscription?
Nimi runs on our servers, and every request costs us money, so it is the one part of Harmonic Pro Studio with a monthly plan. It is optional. You sign in with your Harmonic Pro Studio licence, with no accounts or keys from other AI companies. Plans and prices are announced at launch.
What does it send to the cloud?
To answer you, Nimi reads a summary of your song: its tracks, levels, instruments, chords and the notes you asked it to keep. Your audio leaves your computer only when you agree to a Music AI request that needs it.
Can it break my song?
Every change it makes is one step you can undo. Anything that would delete something asks you first, and Project History keeps your saves, so you can always go back.
