1.5 Record and mix

Record over the band, then add effects that know your key.

1.5.1 Record

  1. Add an audio track.
  2. Choose the input your microphone or guitar is plugged into.
  3. Arm the track and press record. Sing or play over the band.

Keep the takes you like. Everything you record can be cut, moved and edited like any other clip.

1.5.2 Add effects

Put effects on a track as inserts. Some of the effects that come with the studio already know your song’s key and chords:

  • Shape, an equaliser that can snap its bands to the notes of your key
  • Smooth, with Key Protect
  • Drive, with Key Voice
  • Harmonic Space, a reverb whose shimmer follows the chord track
