5.10 The Automation editor (lower zone)

The AUTOMATION tab of the lower panel edits one lane at a time — the whole panel is its canvas. The column on its left is the selected track's automation list: every lane the track has, grouped Track (Volume, Pan), Sends and Inserts, each row with its colour, its value at the playhead, its mode and a ◉ / ○ that shows or hides the track's lanes under it in the timeline. A dimmed row is a parameter that has no lane yet — click it and the lane is created (one undo step) and shown here; the timeline's inline rows stay as they are (◉ opens them). + parameter in the column's header lists the standard lanes the track does not have yet; an insert parameter is automated from its own control (right-click ▸ Create automation in the PLUGIN EDITOR).

Select a track and the list is its; click a lane row under a track in the timeline and the same list comes up with that lane shown; click another row in the list and the editor switches to it. The MASTER row's lanes and a VCA's have no list — the column shows the one lane you opened.
