9.1 Troubleshooting

The problems people meet most often, and what to do about them.

9.1.1 Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

New programs can show this message for a while after a release, even when they are signed.

  1. Choose More info.
  2. Check that the publisher is Westroo Digital (Pvt) Ltd.
  3. If it is, choose Run anyway.

If the publisher is anything else, don’t run it, and tell us.

9.1.2 My Mac won’t open the app

Harmonic Pro Studio is signed and notarised by Apple, so it should open normally.

  • Make sure you downloaded it from the Download page, not from another site.
  • If macOS says it can’t check the app for malicious software, don’t open it, and tell us.

9.1.3 I can’t hear anything

  • Check that the right audio device is chosen in Settings.
  • Check that your speakers or headphones are connected to that device, and turned up.
  • On Windows, try the other driver type (ASIO or WASAPI).

9.1.4 My microphone isn’t heard on a Mac

macOS asks once whether an app may use the microphone. If you chose Don’t Allow, turn it on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, then restart Harmonic Pro Studio.

9.1.5 I hear clicks and crackles

Make the buffer larger in Settings. See Set up your audio.

9.1.6 A plugin is missing

  • Check that its folder is in the plugin folder list, then scan again.
  • Check that it is a VST2 or VST3 plugin. Other formats don’t load.
  • On a Mac, 32-bit plugins can’t run. On Windows they load through the bridge.

9.1.7 Still stuck

Write to us from the Support page. Tell us your computer (Windows or Mac) and its system version, your audio device, which edition you have, and what you did just before the problem.
